Well, here it is, the first of what is hopefully many blogs, if I can keep it up! As I sit here on this sunny 66 degree day in mid-November in Maine, I realize just how very blessed I am. I have a roof over my head, an amazing nine year old who epidomizes the word unconditional love, a job that I am blessed to have, and family and friends surrounding me when I need it most. It was these friends, who after a night of laughing, reminiscing, and reaquainting, suggest I start this blog. Apparently I hold a lot of information that I need to let people know about. I will make sure to use eliases, whoops - I mean aliases, so do not fear my Cape Elizabeth friends, you will not be called out in any way, shape, or form. Here is my disclaimer is, if you read something and it vaguely reminds yourself of you - it probably is. I grew up in waaaay too small of a town for these random things to happen more than once. I mean really, who hasn't heard of a small town with several random hookups, innappropriate teacher/student relations, parties in the woods, the desire to fit in to the so-called "in crowd", and school crushes that originated at age 9??? It has all the mixings for a perfect Lifetime movie.
I met up with some classmates that I hadn't seen that much over the past sixteen years. However, it seemed like no time had passed whatsoever. We may not have all been the closest in high school, but at one time in our lives, we were bonded to each other in one way or another. We all had stories to tell about each other, "remember this?" and "remember that" and "wait, you didn't know about that?" and A LOT of "I would like to forget about THAT..." We sat there and shared information and laughed the night away. Thank god for Facebook, it was our saving grace. If we didn't remember what someone looked like, we checked Facebook. If we wanted to know if someone grew up to be a hottie patottie - checked Facebook!!! Do they have kids? Check it. Anything we wanted to know, we turned to trusty Facebook.
It was here that I went to the bathroom and Tonya came in behind me and while peeing in the stall next to me said, "You need to put this stuff in writing. You should start a blog." I thought, well, that's interesting. I guess if people want to keep up with what is going on in my life, or probably more importantly - what HAS happened in my life since kindygartin - then this would be the place to put that info. So here I type. I will say I am just starting this out so please, bare with me. I may not be the best at this and if you have ANY suggestions, please comment and let me know.
Thank you to all of you who have the faith that I can actually make this interesting. I will do my best to please your minds and make you want to read more. If I bore you, tell me.
You have just MADE my day.
